Arthur V. Langlois

July 2, 1936 — April 10, 2008

LOWELL - Arthur V. Langlois, Sr., 71, a Lowell resident residing in the Pawtucketville section, died Thursday evening, April 10, 2008 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was the beloved husband of Irene R. (Beland) Langlois, with whom he was married for 47 years.
Born in Lowell on July 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Alfred and Lena (Boisvert) Langlois.
Mr. Langlois attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
In his younger years he boxed with the Golden Gloves in the 1950's and won the Middleweight Championship. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox.
He was a member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.
Mr. Langlois was a longtime member of Lake Shore Park in Gilford, NH where he spent many summers with his family.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Langlois was employed at Fort Devens.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Arthur V. Langlois, Jr. and his fianc�e Alberta Glover of Hyannis; a daughter, Renee M. McArthur and her husband John C. of Dracut; two sisters, Theresa Langlois of Pepperell and Lorraine Boudreau of Lowell; five brothers and their wives, Albert and Louise Langlois and Ernest and Judy Langlois, all of Lowell, Roland and Sandra Langlois of FL, Walter Langlois and William and Eileen Langlois, all of Lowell; three grandchildren, Nina M. and Arthur B. Langlois of Hyannis and Lorinda M. McArthur of Dracut; also many nieces and nephews. He also leaves several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pauline Langlois and Elaine Langlois, both of Lowell, Doris and Raymond Bechard, Robert and Lorraine Beland, Leo and Denise Beland, William and Janet Beland, all of FL and Gloria and Roger LaBrecque of Windham, NH. He was the brother of the late Alfred and Andrew Langlois.
