LOWELL - Arthur J. "AJ" Emond, 75, a longtime resident of Lowell died unexpectedly Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Lowell on June 24,1941, and was a son of the late Moise Emond and the late Irene (Tellier) Mainville. He received his education in Lowell schools.
Prior to his retirement, AJ was employed for 20 years as a manufacturing supervisor by BASF Corporation in Bedford. Earlier in his career he was employed as a construction laborer by various companies throughout the area.
He was an avid baseball fan and was a little league coach as a young adult. He will be remembered for always helping others in need and for having a strong work ethic. He also had a love of animals, especially dogs.
AJ was a member of the Laborers Union.
He is survived by his son, David Emond of Lowell; two daughters, Georgette Henrich and her husband Kevin of Dracut and Bernadette Bowen of Hudson, NH; five grandchildren, Joshua Emond of Hudson, NH, SSgt. Adam Bowen, USAF and his wife Julie-Anne of Roswell, NM, Stephanie Bowen of Hudson, NH, Evan Bowen of Hudson, NH, and Sarah Henrich of Dracut; his great granddaughter, Katharina Bowen of Roswell, NM; his former wife, Therese (Chartier) Emond; a brother, Henry Mainville; and many nieces and nephews.
