Obituary
LOWELL - Arthur M. Cormier, 84, a resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at his home. He was the husband of the late Jeannette M. (Michaud) Cormier who died on November 30, 2004.
Born in Lowell on May 29, 1920, he was a son of the late Joseph Leo and Katherine (Pierce) Cormier.
Mr. Cormier served with the United States Army as a Scout during World War II and fought in the European Theater of Operations. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the European African MET Campaign Ribbon with Bronze Service Arrowhead.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Cormier was employed by the City of Lowell as a Janitor. He had previously owned and operated Tyngsboro Beef in Tyngsboro, MA. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church and a member of A.A.R.P.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean F. Kierce of Bridgewater, Barbara T. and George Drolet of Lowell and Catherine C. and James Stangroom of Dracut; six grandchildren, George Drolet and his wife Sandra of Pelham, NH, Keith Drolet of Lowell, Michelle Harned and her husband Jason of Nashua, NH, Amanda, James and Samantha Stangroom, all of Dracut; two great grandsons, Matthew and Jack Drolet of Pelham, NH. He was the father of the late Janet F. Cormier and brother of the late Edmond Cormier and Shirley Maniatis.
