Arminda (das Neves) Correia, widow of Manuel V. Correia passed away at Lowell General Hospital on January 23, 2018, surrounded by her children. She was 91.
Born in St. George, Azores, Portugal on October 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Jose Pedroso dos Santos and Amelia das Neves.
Arminda enjoyed knitting, embroidery and crossword puzzles. She loved to cook, especially for her family. Most of all for Arminda, she cherished all of the time spent with her family and living in the United States.
Survivors include her two children and their spouses, Deodete and Angelo Furtado of Dracut, with whom she made her home, Antonio and Ernestina Correia of Lowell; a daughter in law, Barbara Correia of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren, Paula Costa, Claudia Velera, Tony Correia, Lisa Silva, Melissa Correia, Marcio Correia, Elizabeth Correia; nine great grandchildren; three surviving sisters, Amelia Pedroso of Hampton, NH, Lucilia Bettencourt of Azores, Portugal, Filomena Azevedo of CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Manuel V. Correia who died on January 13, 2018.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, from 4 until 8 PM on Thursday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 12:00 PM at St. Anthony Church. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
