On August 12, 2015, Arlene M. (McCarron) Cox fulfilled her life-long journey surrounded at her home by her loving family.
Arlene was born on August 26, 1920 to the late Robert and Ethel (Clarke) McCarron. A proud resident of Lowell, she centered her life on her family and her Catholic faith. During World War II she married John E. Cox and together raised their five children on Christian Hill. Since John's death in 1982, Arlene enjoyed spending her energy focused on her children, Colleen Lovering of Lowell, Karen and Jack Merchant of Windham, NH, Gail Jaskal of Lowell, John and Colleen (McMahon) Cox of Lowell and Robert and Leslie (Gagnon) Cox of Dracut; her 9 grandchildren, Jason Jaskal, Joseph Cox, Kristine (Jaskal) Foley, Elizabeth (Merchant) Laverick, Kaitlyn Cox, Timothy Merchant, Robert Cox, Patrick Cox and Courtney Cox and her most recent additions, her 7 great grandchildren, Connor, Ryan, Victoria, Molly, Keegan, Ethan and Evelyn.
A graduate of Lowell High School, Arlene was a source of comfort and light to those she helped through Saunder's Market, the Oblate Club, Lowell Credit Union, Merrimack Valley Food Bank and the Varnum and Robinson schools.
Many will recall with a smile the annual family and friends gatherings for Christmas Eve, St. Patrick's Day and July 3rd parties at her Hampton Beach cottage.
Her daily attendance at St. Michael's 7 AM Mass initiated the Breakfast Club at Shaw's; a group of special friends that is moving into it's third decade and continued to be a strong focus of her life.
Arlene was predeceased by her brother Rev. Francis X. McCarron, OMI, her sister Doris McCarron and her son-in-law James Jaskal.
