Archie J. Baribeault, Jr., a Lowell resident, formerly of the Centralville section of the city, husband of the late Doris M. (Perron) Baribeault, died Wednesday August 15, 2012, following a period of declining health. He was 92.
Archie was born in Lowell on February 16, 1920, a son of the late Archie J. and Blanche (Cloutier) Baribeault.
He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army where he attained the rank of Corporal.
Upon the release of active duty from the Army, Archie worked at Hanscom Air Force Base as a meat cutter in the commissary. He also previously worked for many years at the former Vincent's Shoe Store on Middlesex Street.
When Archie retired he then worked at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home. He was responsible for meticulously maintaining the automobiles and the grounds of the funeral home.
He was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Richard J. and Ann Marie (Hickey) Baribeault, of Englewood, FL, Donald R. and Donna (Vercontaire) Baribeault , of Dracut; a daughter Jo-Ann Riddle of Andover; five grandchildren, Julie Baribeault, Katie Baribeault, David Baribeault, Lynn Daileanes and her husband William, Amy Sullivan and her husband Eamonn; three great grandchildren, Michael and Maya Daileanes, Maeve Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert Baribeault.
