Anthony G. Garcia

LOWELL - Anthony G. Garcia, 98, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Sunday, January, 22, 2017 at Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell.

He was born in Lowell on February 18, 1918, and was a son of the late Francisco and Ascenia (Cabral) Garcia.

Anthony served his country in the the United States Army during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as the plant manager for the former Hub Hosiery in Lowell.

Anthony enjoyed going to the horse races and spending time in the company of his family.

He is survived by his son, Anthony F. Garcia and his companion Judith Anthony of Lowell; his daughter, Diana Garcia-Varas and her husband Peter Varas of Nashua, NH; four grandchildren, Anthony F. Garcia, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Arianna Varas of New York City, NY, Peter Anthony Varas of Nashua, NH, and Kristian Varas of Nashua, NH; a great grandson, Conner Garcia of VA; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of Manuel Garcia, Frank Garcia, Mary Garcia, Connie Mackey, and Pauline Hobbs.
