Lowell - Anna M. (Boumila) Carney, widow of Edward R. Carney, a Lowell resident died Wednesday February 25, 2009. She was 86.
She was born in Lowell on August 10, 1922, a daughter of the late Alexander and Felicia (Zelinski) Boumila. Anna was a lifelong Lowell resident.
In earlier years Anna was employed at the former Suffolk Knitting as a stitcher. She retired from Raytheon in South Lowell where she worked as a photo lab technician, after 17 years of service.
Anna was a communicant of the former Sacred heart Church and currently a communicant of St. Michael Church.
She was a dedicated and devoted grandmother who cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law Sharon and James Dolan of Lowell, with whom she resided; a son, Michael Carney and his companion Susan Rourke of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Tighe and her husband Marty, Allison Dolan, Kathleen Dolan, Colleen Dolan, Jay Dolan, David Carney, 1st Lieutenant, USMC, currently stationed in Iraq, Brian Carney; three great grandchildren; a sister in law Theresa McGrade of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Rita Conlon and Bernard Boumila.
