DRACUT - Anna May "Nancy" (Brown) Brien, age 90, a longtime resident of Dracut passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Blaire House of Tewksbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon J. "Butch" Brien, to whom she was married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2020.
She was born in Lowell on January 12, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Anna May (Desautells) Brown.
Prior to her retirement, Anna May was employed for 21 years as laundry attendant at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Parish in Dracut and was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizen Club, Lowell Senior Citizen Club and the Centralville Senior Citizen Club.
Anna May loved to play bingo and pokeno, dancing with her husband and spending time in the company of her loving family, especially her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons and a daughter in law, Robert "Bobby" and Kimberley Brien of Methuen and Joseph Brien of Ossipee, NH; proud grandmother to her five grandchildren, Benjamin Brien and his wife Kelly of Forney, TX, Christopher Brien and his wife Trisha of Brookline, NH, Sarah Brien of Dracut, Gregory Brien and his wife Tristan of Elon, NC, Tyler Brien and his wife Kimberly of Arundel, ME; Anna May and Leon were so proud to welcome another generation of Brien's, their thirteen great grandchildren, Alivia, Sgt. Sebastian USMC, Jacob, Michael, Caitlyn, Kylie, Hailey, Aela, Colby Leon, Kora, Abel, Elsie and Roland; two brothers, Bernard Brown and his wife Pauline of Maine and Thomas Brown and his wife Jeanne of Hudson, NH; a sister, Marilyn Deering of Pepperell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Leo Brown, Rose Mary Willard, Harry Brown, Walter Brown, Raymond Brown, and William Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anna May's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday, April 20th from 4:00 until 7:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00am at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna May's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of MA, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
