SEABROOK, NH - Ann Frances (Sayer) Obara, age 75, a resident of Seabrook, NH and former longtime Lowell resident passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Obara, who died in 1990.
She was born in Lowell on November 4, 1946, and was a daughter of the late Alfred C. and Rita A. (Dawson) Sayer. She attended St. Michael's School where she made lifelong friends. She was a graduate of Keith Hall and later earned an Associate Degree from Middlesex Community College.
Prior to her retirement, Ann was employed for many years in food service at the JG Pyne School in Lowell. She was also employed for many years by Mortgage Financial Services, Inc.
She enjoyed traveling and spending her retirement at the beach. She had the unique ability to make lifelong friends at every stage of her life, especially her St. Michael's Girls. Her greatest joy was spending time in the company of her loving family and friends.
Ann is survived by her two daughters, Kris Obara and her husband Mark Hanson of Durham, NC and Amy Doyle and her husband Cristopher of N. Billerica; a grandson, Orion Doyle of N. Billerica; her sister, Martha Cohn and her husband Mark of Seabrook, NH; her two nieces, Jill Briggs and her companion Mike Pappalardo of Haverhill, and Eileen Ferreira and her husband John of Reading; her dear companion, Francis Zitano of Revere; many close family and friends; as well as Deb, Ashley, and Donna who provided comfort and care to her and her family.
Ann's family would like to thank the staff of the Lowell General Cancer Center, Merrimack Valley Hospice, and the Home Health Foundation for their care and compassion throughout her illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ann's Celebration of Life gathering on Monday at noon at Lenzi's, 810 Merrimack Ave., Dracut, MA. The family kindly asks those whom are not vaccinated to refrain from attending in order to protect family and friends who are immunocompromised.
