Andrè W. "Andy" Lagasse

DRACUT - André W. “Andy” Lagasse, age 93, a longtime resident of Dracut died Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus following a brief illness.  He was the beloved husband of Therese M. (Boisvert) (Beausoleil) Lagasse and the late Barbara H. (Callahan) Lagasse who died in 1982.  

He was born in Lowell on March 13, 1929, and was a son of the late Leopold and Rose Bella (Blanchette) Lagasse.   He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.  

Andy served his country in the United States Army.  

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a pre-prep technician at Courier Citizen.  

Andy was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking.  His greatest joy however, was spending time in the company of his loving family.  

In addition to his wife Therese, he is survived by his four children, Janet Gilday and her husband Daniel of Lowell, William Lagasse and his wife Janice of Randolph, Judith Kidawolski and her husband Edward of Dracut and James Lagasse and his wife MaryLou of Dracut; two stepchildren, Janine Whitcomb of Dracut Robert Beausoleil of Dracut and a step daughter-in-law, Denise Beausoleil of Hudson, NH;  8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, and also many nieces and nephews.  

He was also the brother of the late Doris Doucette, step-father of the late Maurice Beausoleil, Michele Kelly and Paul Beausoleil.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Andy’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday, Nov. 9th from 9:00am until 11:00am followed by his Graveside Service at 11:45am at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andy’s memory to the American Diabetes Association of New England, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023.
