Andre (Andy) Dominique beloved husband of the late Therese (Lambert) Dominique peacefully left this world at his residence in Danvers on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Born in Lowell on September 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Albert and Claire Ida (Champagne) Dominique.
Andy graduated from Lowell High School and continued his education in electronics at the Lowell Technological Institute, now known as UMASS Lowell.
He worked as a television repairman and owned a Television Repair Business. Later he became general foreman at Raytheon for over 35 years.
He enjoyed Country Music, square dancing, telling jokes entertaining children and, most of all, camping which turned into a lifestyle that he and his wife loved.
He belonged to NAFCA (New England Family Camping Association) and later joined "Bounders United", a club for Bounder Motor Homes. Andy enjoyed traveling with his wife in caravans with other Bounder owners, but they were also fearless travelers and mostly traveled together.
They spent time in "Death Valley" and chased tornados in the Midwest, much to our chagrin! They crossed the Rocky Mountains, towing their car which is no small feat considering those mountain roads. They went as far north as Alaska, parking their bounder next to a glacier during 24 hour sunshine. He was proud of saying he traveled all states except Hawaii. They traveled to Canada and Mexico and brought the grandchildren with them for months at a time.
Collectively, with his brother Roland, he was known as Mr. Fix it and could fix just about anything, helping neighbors in their winter residence in Port Richey FL.
Andy treasured his family. He is survived by his children, Al Dominique, Rita Dominique, Andre Dominique Jr., Paul Dominique; beloved grandchildren Christopher Panagiotopoulos and Stephen Panagiotopoulos; a brother and two sisters, Roland Dominique, Jeanette Dominique and Bernadette Dominique; two sisters in law Jeanne Guay and Doris Lambert as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Jean Dominique.
