Amedee H. Plamondon

May 24, 1932 — November 29, 2024

Lowell

Amedee H. "Red" Plamondon, 92, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at his home after a long battle with dementia. He was the beloved husband of the late Anita C. (Bellemare) Plamondon, who passed away on March 6, 2022 and with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on October 20, 2021.

Born in Lowell on May 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ledora (Audy) Plamondon and stepson of the late Laura Plamondon. Red served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Lofberg and was very, very proud to have served his country. Red was employed by Raytheon Company for over 33 years until his retirement in 1990.

Red was a parishioner of the former St. Louis de France Church in Lowell for many years. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul society. Volunteered at the church bingo and carnivals while his children attended school there.

Red was truly a selfless person always putting others first no matter what. He loved to watch sports, bowl and most of all loved to go fishing. His family was very important to him and he showed that in all that he did.

Red is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter, Linda (Plamondon) Wilson and her partner, Rick Gagnon; his son, Richard Plamondon (who was also his caregiver for several years); his grandniece, Jacqueline Wolfgang; as well as many nieces and nephews and their children all whom he loved dearly.

He was the brother of the late Doris Marchand and the late Gerard Plamondon.

The family would like to thank Tom and Morna and the staff at Hands and Hearts Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to Red in his final days.

To honor Red's wishes, funeral services were held privately. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford.
