Alma Milagros Luna

Alma Milagros Luna, age 74, a longtime resident of Lowell died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a long illness.  She was the beloved wife of Armando Luna, to whom she has been married for 59 years.  

She was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico on June 11, 1949, and was a daughter of the late Manuel Ortiz Colon and Modesta Ortiz Baez.  

Alma spent her life tending to the needs of her family and home.  

She was a devout Christian and was a member of Arca De Refugio in Lowell.  

Alma enjoyed cooking, knitting and crocheting.  Her greatest joy however, was spending time in the company of her loving family, especially her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Aybar and Amanda Luna, both of Lowell; four sons, Armando Luna, Jr. of Lowell, Luis Luna and his wife Jessica of Dracut, Jesus Borges and his significant other Yajaira Rodriguez of Dracut and Hector Borges of Lowell; fifteen grandchildren, Armando Luna, Jr., Pedro Luna, Jr., Shyana Luna, Grecia Aybar, Luis Luna, Osvaldo Luna, Giovana Aybar, Lynoel Luna, Selena Luna, Michael De La Cruz, Alessandro Da Silva, Jesus Borges, Jr. Aliahnez A. Borges, Javien E. Borges and Jesicah Borges; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Jesusa Ortiz and Rosa Rivera, both of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was also the mother of the late Milagros Luna and Pedro Luna and the sister of the late Manuel Ortiz and Angel Ortiz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Alma’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Tuesday, Dec. 19th from 4:00 until 7:00pm followed by her Funeral Service at 7:00pm at the funeral home.  A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at the funeral home followed by burial in Westlawn II Cemetery in Lowell.
