Obituary
DRACUT - Alida R. (Romain) Dougherty, 96, a Dracut resident since 1998, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Dougherty was the wife of the late Cecil Dougherty who died in 1965 and Paul Shadlich who died in 1987.
Born in Watervliet, NY on January 12, 1909, she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Scheltz) Romain.
A resident of Watervliet, NY until 1998, Mrs. Dougherty was employed by the New York State Department of Revenue as a clerk until her retirement in 1972.
While living in Dracut she was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynda Scerbo and her husband Joseph of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Cynthia Lareau and her husband Robert of Tyngsboro, Wendy Dick and her husband Michael of Milford, NH, Kristen Rhoad of San Diego, CA and William Rosamond of Phoenix, AZ; 8 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Edward Dougherty and mother-in-law of the late Beth C. (Golding) Dougherty.
