LOWELL – Alice M. (Lafond) Vezina, 93, a former resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, died Sunday morning, June 16, 2013 at the Kindred Healthcare Greenbriar Terrace in Nashua, NH. She was the widow of Eugene Vezina who died in 1979.
Born in Weedon, Canada on September 3, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Angelina (Gagne) Lafond.
Prior to her retirement in 1984, Mrs. Vezina was employed by Wang Labs of Tewksbury. In her younger years she had worked as a waitress for the Rex in Lowell.
She was a member of AARP.
Mrs. Vezina enjoyed dancing at the Manchester, NH Singles Dances.
She leaves a son Henry J. Vezina and his wife Sandra (Emerson) of Derry, NH ; a daughter, Theresa Lord and her husband Paul of Plant City, FL; a son-in-law, Paul Lessard of AZ; three brothers, Raymond Lafond and his wife Marlene of FL, Henry Lafond and his wife Judy of NC and Leo Lafond of AZ; a sister, Rita Ricard of Westford; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a dear friend, Roger Gaumond of Haverhill. She was the mother of the late Joanne Lessard, grandmother of the late Kevin P. Lord and Karen (Lord) Borrelli and sister of the late Eugene, Armand and Lucien Lafond, Cecile Ouellette, Marie Rose Pelletier, Jeannette Beauregard and Bernadette Donato.
