DRACUT - Alice J. (Botelho) Tynan, age 78, a longtime resident of Dracut died Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Tynan, to whom she was married for 42 years prior to his death in 2013.
She was born in Lowell on February 5, 1944, and was a daughter of the late Mariano "Morris" and Gertrude (Doyle) Botelho. She received her education in Billerica schools and was a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School. She then went on to attend business school at a local community college.
Alice dedicated most of her life to tending to the needs of her home and family. She also managed a Dracut laundromat with her husband for many years.
She loved to read and knit and was an avid collector of carousel horses and spoons. Earlier in life she collected stamps from around the world. Her greatest joy however, was spending time in the company of her loving family.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Jennie R. Tynan of Dracut and Marcia L. Tynan and her fiancé Edward Kelley of Billerica; her son, Brian P. Marcoux of Dracut; nine grandchildren, Candace Tynan and her fiancé Steven Wright of Dracut, Mary Koval and her husband Anthony of Tyngsboro, Melanie Lincoln of Plattsburgh, NY, William Furman of Nashua, NH, Morgan Marcoux of Lowell, Devon Marcoux of Lowell, Nicole Poliquin and her husband Jeremy of Lowell, Christopher Kelley of Billerica and Cynthia Kelley of Billerica; seven great grandchildren, Aydin, Keirah, Kaleb, CJ, Addyson, Ryleigh and Adecyn; a sister, Karen Steeves and her husband David of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Alice's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday, July 6th from 4:00 until 7:00pm. Her Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 7th at 10:00am. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Dracut.
