Alice R. (Gilbride) Fotopoulos, 92, a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a short illness. She was the wife of the late George W. Fotopoulos.
Born in Lowell on June 28, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Laffey) Gilbride.
For over 50 years, Mrs. Fotopoulos worked at the Bon Marche, the Mohair Plush Company, and lastly at Joan Fabrics of Lowell in the Sample Department. She loved and enjoyed her family, playing bingo, Cape Cod vacations, visiting Hampton Beach, and her weekly communion group.
She was a lifelong communicant at St. Michael Church in Lowell. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Centralville Senior Citizen Club, and the Greater Lowell Senior Citizen Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Eleanor F. Clark and her husband, James P. Clark of Andover; grandson, Dr. Matthew J. Clark of Duxbury; and many nieces and nephews of Massachusetts and Florida. She was a sister of the late Raymond, William, Charles and Robert Gilbride, Margaret Gilbert and Doris Rodgerson Grenier.
