Alice E. Holland

Alice E. (Beausoleil) Holland, 79, of Arlington, formerly a longtime resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, died peacefully, Wednesday June 8, 2011 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was the beloved wife of the late Victor H. Holland for 44 years.
Born in Lowell on January 3, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Tanguay) Beausoleil.
For many years, Alice proudly worked alongside her husband in the family business, L&H Auto Service in Lawrence, MA, as a bookkeeper. She was later employed as a cafeteria worker at The City Magnet School in Lowell where she was loved by all of the children and co-workers.
Alice always put her family first. She loved boating with her husband, family gatherings, and shopping and visiting with her precious grandchildren. She was passionate about arts and crafts and enjoyed music and playing her piano. She is fondly remembered for her sense of humor and her dedication to the television show "The Price is Right", of which she rarely missed an episode.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Houston and her husband, Armand of W. Newfield, ME; a son, Marc Holland and his wife, Jane of Arlington; two brothers, Paul Beausoleil and his wife, Judy of Merrimack, NH, Roland Beausoleil and his wife, Theresa of Andover; two sisters, Cecile Ayotte of Keene, NH and Doris Reed and her husband, Wilbur of Billerica. Alice was “Mémère Ali” to three grandchildren, Kim Carbonneau of Lowell, Derek Lemire of Dracut, Kai Holland of Arlington; three great-grandchildren, Heather Surprenant of Sanford, ME, Tara Surprenant of Lunenburg, Brandi Carbonneau of Lowell; and a great-great-grandson, Landen Monroe of Lunenburg. Alice also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends including her dearest friends, Aline and George Brown of Orlando, FL. She was the sister of the late Donald Beausoleil.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice's memory may be made to: Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054 in recognition of their excellent care.
