OBITUARY
LOWELL - Alfred J. Shaughnessy, 102, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Saturday, October 16, 2004 in a local nursing home. He was the husband of the late Malvina F. (Goyette) Shaughnessy.
Born in North Bay, Ontario, Canada on May 22, 1902, he was a son of the late Alfred J. and Delima (Lamoureux) Shaughnessy.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Shaughnessy was employed by the General Electric Company of Lowell as a tower operator.
He was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice and Raymond Lavigne of Lowell; three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Rita Shaughnessy of Dothan, Alabama, Arthur and Annette Shaughnessy of Hudson, NH and Roland and Donna Shaughnessy of Lowell; a brother and his wife, Albert and Lillian Shaughnessy of Pittsburg, PA; 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late George Shaughnessy, and brother of the late Arthur, Lawrence and Walter Shaughnessy, Rose Roy, Hazel Begen, Marjorie King, Doris Huggins and Mabel Perkins.
