Alfred Frank Jones, Jr., 62, of Dracut and Gilmanton Iron Works, NH died unexpectedly Wednesday February 23, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Mary Anne Johnston of Dracut.
Born and brought up in Norwood on May 12, 1948, he was a son of the late Alfred F. and Evelyn J. (Brown) Jones, Sr. He was a graduate of Norwood High School class of 1966. He continued his education attending Franklin Institute, and Northeastern University.
Al was a civil engineer and worked for Kraft Food Corporation for 13 years until he retired.
He was a proud decorated veteran of the U. S. Army having served both state side and in Korea from 1968-1971.
His love for woodworking, photography and Nascar kept him busy throughout his life.
Al was a long time active member of the Massachusetts Jaycees, served as President of the Norwood Jaycees and currently was the Massachusetts Junior Chamber of Commerce International Senate State Treasurer. He was a Lion and member of the V.F.W.
In addition to his wife, Mary Anne, Al is survived by, 12 children and 6 grandchildren: son, Derek and Christine Theriault of Attleboro, MA, sons Matthew Theriault and Andrew Jones and wife, Jessica Jones of Tampa, FL, daughter, Jennifer Moser and husband, Chris Moser of Jacksonville, FL, step daughter Stephanie Farr and husband, Jason Farr of Middleburg, FL, stepdaughter Jeanne Suttie and Peter Christian of Norton, MA, stepson James Suttie and fiancée Danielle Lacasse of Lowell, stepdaughter Mary Sorensen and husband Neil Sorensen of Londonderry, NH, stepson John Suttie and Vickki Ross, stepdaughter Jennifer Cote of Nashua, NH; grandchildren: Noah Antonelli, Brianna and Victoria Moser, Kendra Cardoso and Heather Theriault and Haley Kinter; and his Aunt Eleanor Davis of Westwood, MA.
