LOWELL - Alex R "Pun" Mejias, age 27, a longtime resident of Lowell died unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
He was born in Lowell on October 11, 1992, and was a son of Darlene S. Simmons of Cocoa, FL and the late Benjamin Mejias. He received his early education in Lowell schools and attended Greater Lowell Technical High School in Tyngsboro.
Pun was the type of person that would do anything for anyone. He would feed an enemy if needed. His laughter would brighten a dark room and when he smiled it would make your heart smile.
He was loved by all that met him and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, SSG Michael S. Simmons, US Army and his wife Brianna of Georgia, Andrew B. Simmons of Lowell, and Johnathon E. Simmons an his fiancé Madalyn Quinones of Fitchburg; his daughter, Justice Ida Rose Escalera; his fiancé Brittany Gardner of Lowell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pun's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Saturday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM.
