Aldora M. Reis

LOWELL - Aldora M. Reis, age 80, a longtime resident of Lowell passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Flaminio S. Azevedo, to whom she was married to for 63 years.

She was born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal on June 10, 1940, and was a daughter of the late Joao E. and Laudelinda (Pires) Reis. She received her education in the Azores.

Prior to her retirement, Aldora was employed for many years by Prince Macaroni in Lowell. Earlier in life she was employed by the former Grace Shoe Company in Lowell.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time in the company of her loving family.

Aldora was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony Church in Lowell.

In addition to her husband, she is survived her three sons, Joao C. Azevedo and his wife Fatima, Jose C. Azevedo, and Antonio P. Cardoso, all of Lowell; two grandchildren, Liana Burd and her husband Jason of Dracut and Brandon Azevedo of Peabody; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Luna, and Juliana; three brothers, Luis Reis and his wife Fatima of New Market, Canada, Victor Reis and his wife Orlanda of Lowell, and Joao Lizuarte Reis of Lowell; five sisters, Judite Borba of Lowell, Mariazita Avila and her husband Arnaldo of Lowell, Laulita Lazaro and her husband John of Dracut, Bernadette Reis of Dracut, and Rosa Afonso and her husband Jose of Lowell; three god children, Hildeberto Avila, Amendaly Brasil of CA, and Anthony Reis; many nieces and nephews, including, Gabriel Ortiz and Christopher Avila; and many grand nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Jose Reis, aunt of the late Jose Duarte Reis, and the sister-in-law of the late Jose Borba and Joseph DaSilva.

Private family services will be held on Thursday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Aldora's Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday, October 8th at 12 Noon at St. Anthony Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. l.
