Albert J. G. Doucette

November 12, 1931 — June 30, 2015

Dracut - Albert J. G. Doucette, a Dracut resident and the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Talbot) Doucette, who died in 2010, passed away at the Atrium at Drum Hill on Tuesday June 30, 2015. He was 83.

Born in Lowell on November 12, 1931, a son of the late Francis and Mabel (Charest) Doucette.

Al had served in the US Army Reserves and then enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War.
He was employed at the former Lowell Shoe, and then as a machinist at Jerguson, Gage, & Valve of Burlington for 20 years. Al retired in 1993 from Essex Silver Line of Dracut.
He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut for many years.

Al and Dolores enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba and Hawaii. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and canoeing.
Al was a member of the International Brotherhood of Machinists Local 1836.
Mr. Doucette's family would like to thank his many angels from Visiting Angels who provided Al the opportunity to lead an independent full life.
They also send a heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Atrium who brought joy, love, and compassionate care in the short time "Big Al" enjoyed his "new home".
Finally a special thanks to "Sunshine" with whom he enjoyed friendship, encouragement, and many pleasant hours together, especially the frequent rides for special treats.
Survivors include his two sisters, Lillian Doucette and Theresa Arpin both of Lowell; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late Henry, Leo, Armand, Maurice, Gerard, Roland, Yvonne, Alice, Anita, and Jeannette.
