Lowell – Albert J. Asselin, 82, a Lowell resident, beloved husband of Lorraine (Bourget) Asselin, died Friday May 25, 2012 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Lowell on January 2, 1930, a son of the late Ralph and Mary Ann (Boucher) Asselin.
Prior to his retirement Albert was employed as a book inspector for 42 years at the Courier Citizen Corporation. He was also a member of the Graphics Communications Union Local 600 in Boston. Albert enjoyed reading, playing bingo and watching sports in his spare time.
Surviving him besides his wife with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage this July are his four children and their spouses, Deborah and William Lewis of Lawrence, Robert and Karen Asselin of Pepperell, Albert R. and Linda Asselin of Newmarket, NH, Michelle and Dave Santiago of Methuen; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Nicholas, Sarah, Albey, Katie, Trisha, Vericianna; and three great grandchildren.
