Alan M. Molloy

Alan M. Molloy, 55, of Dracut, passed away on Thursday July 30, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital due to complications from esophageal cancer. He was the loving husband of Paula M. (Penta) Molloy of Dracut with whom he shared thirty years of marriage.

Born in Somerville on January 16, 1960, he was a son of the late Stephen J. Molloy and Lorraine R. (Miller) Molloy.

Alan was a mail handler for the United States Postal Service.

Al enjoyed all types of music particularly Blues and Rock and loved to attend concerts in his free time. Watching either of his sons drum performances gave him great joy. The Lowell Folk Festival was something Al always looked forward to attending and was pleased to have attended this years festival. He loved to travel, Alaska was his favorite but he also enjoyed family weekends at the lake. He was a true fan of the Red Sox and Bruins, win or lose.

In addition to his wife, Paula, Al is survived by his sons, Timothy Molloy of Yorba Linda, CA and Eric Molloy of Dracut; a brother, Stephen J. Molloy, Jr. and his wife, Judith of Stoneham; two sisters, Nancy Molloy of Lynn, Deborah J. Murphy and her husband, John of Lynn; his father-in-law, Joseph Penta of Hull; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Lisa Penta of Cranston, RI, Patricia and Thomas Fitzgerald of Melrose, Joan and Sean Corkery of Tega Cay, SC, Joseph and Michele Penta of Wakefield, Susan and Matthew Weiss of Melrose; many nieces and nephews.
