A. Shirley (McShea) O'Malley, 87, of Dracut passed away on July 24, 2014 at Town and Country Health Care Center following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. O'Malley who passed away in 1986.
Born in Lowell on February 22, 1927 she was a devoted daughter of the late Austin H. and Mary L. (Riley) McShea.
Growing up in Lowell, Shirley attended St. Michael School of which she received a scholarship to attend Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro and was a proud 1943 graduate. She started her career in the banking industry which led to a financial position as a proud employee of Market Basket Corporate Headquarters. After dedicating 30 years to market Basket, she happily retired in 1993.
Shirley was always the life of the party alongside her nephew, Stephen Gagnon. She loved life and always made sure everyone was always okay and took good care of everyone. Shirley's "past time" was never any sports, it was crossword puzzles and TV game shows. Shirley loved watching her grandchildren grow up and then watching their kids grow up. She made her family very close by always having open doors and encouraged get togethers. She also was very strong and held everything together when it was needed as she was selfless in every way imaginable.

O'Malley, III; a sister, Ann Marie McCarthy and her husband, John of Lowell; her grandchildren, Amy O'Malley, Erin O'Malley, Brianne Bergeron and her husband, Dan, Michael Sullivan, Jr., David Donovan, Leah Donovan, Adam Donovan; Her great grandchildren, Eliza, Morgan, Taylor, Skylar, Alyssa, Kelsey, Adelyne, Madison, Andrew and Parker; many nieces and nephews; a former daughter-in-law, Robin Donovan of Dracut; and a wonderful friend, Diane Belanger of Pelham, NH.
